Help us celebrate 20 years of the Katy Trail, America’s longest rail to trail cycling path (225 miles) by riding some or all of it in 2010. See limestone cliffs, two Missouri capital cities, winery towns and ragtime history.

First opened April 28, 1990 the Katy Trail is known far and wide as one of the best maintained, fun cycling trails in North America. Its 8 foot wide path supports 300,000 cyclists each season.

Missouri’s Katy Trail, PEI’s Confederation Trail and Wisconsin's 4 Trails have hard packed, well-maintained, and generally level surfaces. Each is rated easy to cycle because there are no hills on the trails.

A self-guided or "self-paced" cycling vacation from the Independent Tourist comes with the freedom to travel as you please and at your own pace. Our "group" sizes range from 1 person to 20. Small group are 1 to 6 cyclist. All tours are self-guided and supported
